Happy Chinese New Year! So I found myself on the film set of Hong Kong action movie ‘Vanguard’ with the London leg of the shoot. Vanguard is directed by Stanley Tong and stars Jackie Chan, although we didn’t get to see Jackie Chan!
Here’s a quick behind the scenes photo from the rooftop of the national gallery on trafalgar square of the chinese new year celebrations held in London on Sunday. It’s not every day you get a view like this! The film features some scenes set during the celebrations with a mere 5 camera set up! For stills, I just found myself capturing the festival from different angles but this one takes the biscuit!! ha ha.
Some throwback stills from my first feature film job in New York city. Starring Jake Choi and James Chen directed by Ray Yeung.
Here’s some corporate stock photography from a photoshoot we did at some logistic warehouses around the M25 in London. Companies often require photography for their end of year budget reports, annual brochure and general PR. So we packed a small light and booked in a couple of factory floor workers who signed a model release to do some close up shots. I like to shoot a range of images but always keeping in mind where text may be placed on the page offering options to the graphic design teams.
I have been fortunate to photograph many corporate events using the amazing space at mercedes benz world in surrey. Event photography means capturing the spirit of the day in an engaging way. Mercedes flagship centre which has a on site race track, driving experience centre and museum is a stand alone building in itself. Hiring an experienced corporate photographer entails getting those images that feel slightly different and guaranteed to gather images you can use for a host of publications and press.
I cover a lot of london event photography for the organisation Women in Film and Television. They hold an annual summer drinks party event and christmas party events great for networking opportunities for their members. We always book in a group photograph and capture any awards and presentations they do. I’ve also attended a couple of screenings for Lifetime and Curzon Cinemas.
